Take your place in the sun, there are new dishes to be tasted and summery drinks to be sipped...
The terrace outside Jamie's Italian might be the ultimate place in Cardiff to sit sipping a Prosecco when the sun shines. While you're there make sure you sample one of the new additions to the menu. We love the Gnocchi Sorrentina: Organic potato gnocchi in slow-roasted tomato sauce with garlic, basil and baby mozzarella.
Carluccio's is another of our restaurants that's perfect for sitting outside, watching the world go by. This month you have to try the special - Swordfish Muddica. It's Swordfish served the traditional Sicilian way, coated in herbed breadcrumbs, parmesan and grilled, served with a salad of courgette, green beans, rocket and parmesan shavings. Don't forget the gelato afterwards!
Zizzi is the latest addition to the al fresco scene at St David's, you'll find colourful chairs in a sunny spot tucked away at the back of Eastside. Kick back and enjoy the summer special: Fiery Spianata Rustic Pizza (think smoked mozzarella, spicy Spianata Piccante salami, chillies, mozzarella and more).
Out on The Hayes, just around the corner from Jamie's Italian, you'll find the outdoor seating area of Wahaca. The Mexican street food menu is perfect for sharing over a tequila cocktail or two as the sun goes down. The Seafood Coctel is a summer special featuring fresh scallop and shrimp in a habanero spiced tomato cerviche with avocade and crispy corn tortillas.
At GBK this summer you have to try the Big Mouth while you're sat outside the restaurant enjoying the fresh air - it's the current special and is topped with beer infused cheese. Not as weird as it sounds!
If you're eating al fresco at St David's this summer, be sure to share your pics on social media. Tag #SDalfresco and we'll share the best ones.
